Start value, end value and years
What is CAGR?
The compound annual growth rate: the constant yearly rate that would take the start value to the end value over the given number of years, smoothing out any volatility in between. Formula: (end ÷ start)^(1 ÷ years) − 1.
CAGR describes a smooth average annual rate — it doesn't reflect the actual path the value took, which may have included much larger gains and losses along the way.
